Our 8 Week Challenge Winner: Brooke Jenkins

We are so excited to announce Brooke as our first 8 Week Challenge winner! We wanted to get to know her more and ask her a couple questions about her fitness journey. Brooke has come so far over 8 weeks and we are so proud of her!

What inspired you to join the challenge?

My best friend was signing up too and she was so excited! After tossing the idea back and forwards, I thought why not considering I was in iso. Giving it a go was the best decision.

What was your fitness journey like before beginning the challenge?

Prior to the challenge my lifestyle did not revolve around fitness at all. I did not do anything for my health let alone exercise so doing the challenge was a major shift for me. 

What were your goals, and did you reach them?

At the beginning of the challenge my main goal was to lose weight, wanting to lose at least 7.4kg. However, I achieved more than I expected losing 15kg and a total of 88cm off my body.

Did you face any obstacles during the challenge?

The only obstacle I faced during the 8 weeks was my Juvenile/Rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed when I was 2 years old, so learning to deal with this has always been a challenge. I had to strap my ankles every day which resulted in blisters, but I wasn't going to let them stop me from my workout or walks.

Do you have any advice for people looking at beginning their fitness journey or jumping into a challenge?

My advice would be just go for it! You can achieve anything you want if you put your mind to it. I'm a stay at home mum so it was easy for me to find the time and it was so amazing as it pushed me and my son out on walks every day.

How are you going to continue to reach your goals?

I'm going to continue what I’ve been doing the last 8 weeks. The change of my new healthy lifestyle now is so different to 8 weeks ago. I would never get up and do a workout or go for a walk which is now apart of my everyday life. My results motivate me to keep going and push to continue reach the goals I set for myself. The exercises and stretches were amazing! The meal plans and healthy treats were a huge bonus and super helpful when planning out my week.
